General Questions

The nature of the business means that I do not have set opening hours, although when possible, it would be great if any telephone contact was made between the hours of 08:30am - 6:00pm.
Yes, I can provide services on any day of the week. Weekends are often when I run workshops, therefore there may be a reduced availability for photography work.
At present the payment options are: bank transfer, cheque or cash.
For most photo shoots, personal and commercial, I can come to your home, business or location of choice.
This really depends on the complexity of the photos and the amount you require. I normally aim to get a digital Contact Sheet to you within 48 hours of the photo shoot, from where you will choose the desired photographs. After this process I aim to get the chosen photos back to you within a maximum of 14 days, although it is very often much faster.
The copyright of a photo would not automatically go to you, although it is possible to purchase the photograph outright, allowing you to have full control over the photograph. The level of Photograph License you require would be discussed and in most cases you will probably find that you do not require to own the copyright to the image.
This will depend on your preference. I am finding that more people nowadays are requesting digital copies (i.e. CD, collection from website, etc), therefore my default is to provide in electronic format. Should you require prints I can organise this for you as part of the Package. I outsource all printing work, allowing a greater range of options and meeting different budget requirements.

Commercial Photography Questions

Commercial photography jobs are priced individually depending on the requirements and use of the photos. This ensures you get the best value option to meet your needs.
I would be able to work out a more accurate time once I knew the type of photographs you required and the quantity. For example, covering an informal event could provide 50+ photos per hour, whereas a complex product/property photo could take several hours or even days to achieve the desired outcome.
Yes, I can undertake project of varying time scales and durations.
I would certainly give assistance in trying to find an appropriate model to meet your requirements.

Portrait Photography Questions

Should the weather make the photo shoot impossible to go ahead as planned, we would look at rescheduling to a different day, or if possible, perhaps a later time on the same day. I try to keep an eye on the weather a few days before the photo shoot, allowing a pre-warning of the impending conditions.
It can certainly be supportive to have a friend at your photo shoot. This is not a problem, although I would suggest that you chose someone who would not be a distraction or cause risk. It can sometimes be boring for a person to be at a photo shoot, and I would recommend that they bring along something to keep them occupied.
For most photographs a relaxed and natural look is more pleasing, therefore it is about 'being yourself'. During the photo shoot I will offer guidance and direction should you require. When we are planning the photo shoot, we can discuss ideas and it can be useful to look through similar photos online, in magazines, etc. for ideas on poses and expressions. For most occasions it is about capturing 'your' character, which is something that I would encourage.
Unfortunately this is not something that I can normally do. I can provide materials to enhance outfits in many cases. We would discuss outfits while planning the photo shoot, giving you guidance of what is likely to work best for your desired outcome
Yes, I can supply gift vouchers for any service or training option, which can be used for full or part payment of the chosen service.

Pet Portrait Photography Questions

Ideally, we would arrange the photo shoot for a time of day where your pet is normally more settled, such as after a meal, following a walk, etc. If lighting is used, I would acclimatise your pet to it, which they normally respond very quickly to. Should it be apparent that your pet is distressed or won't settle, we would discuss options, such as postponing the shoot.
Yes, this should not be a problem. I have a selection of studio backgrounds, which can easily be set up in your home to give a formal and classic look to the photograph.
No, you would pay for the session and the required amount of photographs. You can mix and match pets within the photographs. The main criteria is that all of the photographs are taken at the same booked shoot.
I would modify the light use depending on the tolerance of the pet. Continuous lighting or ambient (natural light) can be used for any pet that dislikes a flash or appears to be getting distressed by it.
Yes, that is absolutely fine. The cost is likely to be the same as a Portrait photo shoot, rather than a Pet Portrait photo shoot, reflecting the additional editing time required for people photographs.
