Overview
Woodland photography can be challenging but very rewarding. Throughout the session, we will explore these unique challenges and the opportunities that woodland environments offer, from capturing dramatic landscapes and intricate details to fine-tuning composition, light, and perspective.
The location is the beautiful Reelig Glen, west of Inverness, which offers picturesque trees, paths, structures and streams.
Eligibility
- Audience
- Beginner to advanced photographers, aged 16 and over
- Equipment
- Camera with user control of Aperture, Shutter and ISO
- Lens/es (covering range you prefer to shoot. (Ideally 24mm or wider – 70mm or longer)
- Tripod (not essential but beneficial)
- Filters: ND, Polarising (not essential but beneficial)
- Batteries: Sufficient to last duration of workshop
- Mobility
- Ability to mobilise on woodland paths
Meals
Please bring own packed lunch, snacks and drinks
Additional Info
It is advisable to bring waterproof clothing and insect repellent

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Gary is a commercial photographer and photography educator based in Forres. The photography business has been operating since 2011, utilisng Gary’s 20+ years experience in developing, delivering and evaluating professional training packages for all ages. Gary’s career began in the care sector, commencing as a First Level Mental Health Nurse, and progressing towards Management, then Training Management. He gained many useful skills during this career, transferring them into his photography and education business.
