Overview
Macro photography opens a whole new world of subjects and interest to photographers and audiences.
This workshop offers a blend of theory and practical work, and explores ways to create beautiful close-up images. With lots of hands-on learning experience focused on capturing close-up images of small subjects such as insects, flowers, textures, and everyday objects,. you will be introduced to key concepts of macro photography such as:
- light,& lighting methods
- magnification
- depth of field
- focusing methods
Eligibility
The workshop is open to all ages, and although a DSLR would be most beneficial, phone or tablet users are welcome.

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Gary is a commercial photographer and photography educator based in Forres. The photography business has been operating since 2011, utilisng Gary’s 20+ years experience in developing, delivering and evaluating professional training packages for all ages. Gary’s career began in the care sector, commencing as a First Level Mental Health Nurse, and progressing towards Management, then Training Management. He gained many useful skills during this career, transferring them into his photography and education business.
