Overview
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at portrait photography but have been sure where to start? Perhaps you have taken portraits but not been happy with the results? Or maybe you have thought it was going to cost too much to purchase the required equipment? This workshop takes you right back to the basics and aims to strip away any fear or uncertainty you may have about taking portraits, while supporting you to produce eye-catching shots.
The workshop offers a blend of theoretical presentation, discussion, demonstration and practical sessions to explore key elements of portrait photography and allow you to try out your skills.
Topics include:
– Controlling light
– Positioning and posing people
– Establishing the camera settings
– Evaluating the shot
Eligibility
- Camera with control over Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO
- All ages welcome
Considerations
– Please bring your own lunch
– Place numbers are limited, therefore early booking is recommended

14 November 2021 (optional but recommended)
Follow up practice session: For those who can make it along on 14 November, you will have the opportunity to assist others to take photographs of people, and try out your own shots – to support raising money for charity. You will not have to spend all day here (unless you want to) but can come along for a couple of hours.
